About the Workshop

In today’s fast environment, we are constantly faced with many changes. Changes in the workplace, government regulations, technology and more. How can we more effectively lead change, acquire buy-in from our teams, and manage resistance to change?

This workshop has been designed for those responsible for leading change, ideas, projects and teams in organizations of varying sizes and with various mandates. It has been calibrated as a practical and interactive workshop that will equip participants with the skills, knowledge and tools to turnaround tough situations, and to get buy-in from their leaders, peers, teams and employees, in order to successfully implement new ideas, processes and policies, as well as business and technology projects. This course will leverage proven and established tools, frameworks and materials from renowned thought leaders in the area of Change and Leadership

Our intention in designing this workshop is that you learn:
  • The Foundations of Change Leadership and Organizational Change Management
  • How to increase your influence and become a more effective Change Leader
  • How to design and  build your Agenda for Change

Yvonne Ruke Akpoveta
Yvonne is highly passionate about working with individuals and organizations to help them drive change and achieve their goals. She has been described as a trainer and speaker who equips and inspires her audience to take immediate action towards the change they desire. As an experienced Organizational Change Management Consultant, Trainer and certified John C. Maxwell Leadership Coach, she works with her clients to help them transition through change and equip them with the tools required for continued success. Yvonne is holds a BSc honours in Business Information Technology & Marketing, an MBA from Warwick Business School, England, and she has studied Change Leadership at Cornell University. Yvonne is multifaceted, having worked with a variety of clients including JP Morgan Chase, Loblaw, GM, Royal Bank Canada, Delta State Government, Phillips Consulting, and Deloitte & Touché to deliver strategic and business critical projects. During her time with these organizations, she trained employees, led major projects, pioneered change, and gained invaluable experience, tools and knowledge to effectively serve her clients. While at JP Morgan Chase, she started her career as a project manager, and was subsequently promoted into management where she was responsible for leading change and knowledge development. In addition, her international experience in Europe, Africa and North America, in both the public and private sectors, has afforded her exposure to diverse environments and a proficiency in thinking outside the box. Yvonne is a published author, an Inspirational speaker and a change catalyst.

Materials required for the purposes of experiential learning, such as scenarios and exercises, as well as all workshop materials, are provided in printed form.

Cancellations
We know schedules can get quite busy, and we know last minute cancellations often wreak havoc on those schedules. That is why, as a measure of certainty, The Commons Institute rarely cancels its programs. We believe this puts us in a class of our own, and delivers worry-free professional development to the professionals that take our programs.

Locations & Cruise Offer
Our workshops are held annually in locations across Canada. In the event you have a group of learners and don’t see your location listed, please contact us and we’ll be glad to arrange for a workshop at your location.
Regarding our Caribbean cruise offer: the draw is conditional on the receipt of adequate registrations to enable your workshop to proceed. Prize cannot be exchanged for cash. Prize includes cruise component (inside room) only, does not include flight or other transportation to and from port, or incidental expenses. Cash value of prize can be capped at our sole discretion.
